It is also important that the water temperature remains constant at 28-30˚C – so there should be a heater in the container unless you have a place where such a temperature exists. The hatching process takes 24 to 48 hours depending on many factors – it is best to determine the optimal hatching time for your conditions yourself (for me, it takes 30 - 36 hours). When you want to collect the larvae, remove the aeration kit from the container and wait a moment for the water to clarify – this usually takes 5-10 minutes for the shells to float to the surface of the water. Then collect or skim the shells from the water surface, and strain the artemia larvae through a fine sieve (it is best to rinse with fresh water to remove excess salt).
